About Dinner Is Done

Catrina Hill, Owner

I created Dinner Is Done at a crucial time in my life.  My mother, Mamie Hill(Hopkins), lived in Racine, Wisconsin and was dying from cancer. During the period of her illness I was a wife, a full time mother, and I worked a full time job.  I drove six hours to Wisconsin every weekend to help take care of my mother.  You have to understand, my mother was a wonderful, God-fearing woman.  My mother's family was her life.  I once heard someone tell her, "I have never seen anyone love their kids the way you do."  During the two year period of Mama's illness I was always worried about what my family was eating when I was gone.  In the summer when the kids were out of school I would take them with me.  While talking to someone I stated that it would be a lot easier if there was a place where I could buy good home cooked food, in bulk, for my family while I was gone. I knew this was a problem for a lot of people with elderly parents, homes with both working parents, and single families, etc...

That's how I came up with Dinner Is Done!
